Team Fundraising
An important part of the club's ethos is that rugby should be accessible to all, regardless of ability, gender or wealth. Over the last few years, the players in this team have done everything together, leaving nobody behind.
This is thanks to their own fundraising endeavours, the hard work of parents and friends but also in no small part, the generosity of local and national donors. It has been important to all the players and their families that all of their team mates can continue to be part of their exciting journey.
Below we share how our own players are fundraising for the Australia 2027 tour.
Cross Keys Inn Pub Quiz Fundraiser (Saturday 30th May 2026)
Drymen Agricultural Show (Saturday 30th May 2026)
It was a long, steady day of fundraising at the annual Drymen Show.
We had a group of players helping to park cars in the car park which helped raise funds for the rugby club as a whole.
Throughout the day several different players came and supported the s'mores stand where we learnt that the toasting marshmallows technique is such a personal preference! How do you like yours?!
SRFC President's Day (Saturday 9th May)
In a day of incredibly unpredictable weather, our loyal team of fundraisers braved the elements to keep momentum going to ensure this trip can go ahead for all our players.
Variety, enthusiasm and creativity were the lasting impressions of the day. We offered the local community:
- Duck Race
- Bake Sale
- S'mores Stall
- Dave's Darts
- Ekrem's 100 Room Makeover
- Suzie's Coodies (cushions from hoodies)
We have a few weeks break before we hit the road again.
Fundraising Bake Sale (Friday 3rd April)
Probably the fastest organised and best quality bake sale to have ever happened!
At just five days notice a group of our parents pulled off an incredible bake sale that received plaudits from our international friends. Don't worry if you missed out, our very own professional baker and team will be providing more opportunities over the course of the summer!
Players' Fundraising Committee
So that the many ideas being imagined by the players are thoroughly thought through and coordinated with the parents, coaches and club, a players committee was created.
The 23 touring players all voted for their chosen representatives: the lucky boys duly elected were Archie, Duncan, Freddy, Joseph and Luke.
Over the coming weeks they will finalise the details of each player's plan and publish them here.
