Community Work

We have been very lucky to grow up surrounded by supportive and positive families who have helped us be the best young people we can be. However, we are of the belief that we should also put something back and support the wider community and help make the lives of others better or easier. Here are just some examples of the things we have recently got involved in.

Looking after our neighbours

In the winter of 2025 an elderly man living on his own in the community was unable to return home from hospital unless his house was re-arranged to accommodate him living downstairs full time. Four boys in the team spent evenings after school moving heavy furniture up and down the stairs, creating a living space for Mr H to return home and recuperate. To this day, Mr H still refers to the fact that these boys "gave me my life back".

Assisting other community events

September 2025 saw the launch of the inaugural Balfron Book Festival. This was a fledgling community event organised my a small group of local people. When we were approached to ask if we could volunteer our time to help set up gazebos and move furniture, we were more than happy to offer our services for free.

Car Parking Attendants

When a local agricultural show was desperately seeking people to help park cars for the 5000 expected visitors, our boys were the ones to step forward and volunteer. Despite the wet weather and muddy conditions, they did a great job of getting all the cars, tractors, lorries and trailers all safely parked on site.

Coaching younger players

A big part of the team's commitment to the club is giving back their time and knowledge to the younger players.

All the players have at some point coached or refereed in younger age groups. The younger players are always inspired by our enthusiasm and energy, and the coaches appreciative of our input and contribution.

This photo was taken from a recent event where a group of our players helped run a Minis Rugby Tournament after school for local primary children. Despite the weather conditions, these four boys helped make it a massive success for so many young players.
